The one that matters is on every page already: these are estimates, not advice. No number here is a quote, an approval, or a promise about what anybody will actually charge you. The rest is set out properly below.

1. Who provides this site
CarVerdict.ca is operated by Mike Hamata, operating as CarVerdict.ca (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.
We are not a dealer, a lender, a mortgage broker, an insurance broker, an insurer or a financial adviser. We are not registered under the Motor Vehicle Dealers Act, 2002 and we do not arrange, broker or refer credit. Nothing on this site is an offer of credit, insurance or a vehicle.
2. Estimates, not advice
Everything the calculator produces is an estimate generated from the figures you enter and from published market data, each item of which is listed with its source and its date on the assumptions page. Estimates are modelled, not quoted.
In particular: the interest rate shown is a range for a credit band and not a rate you have been offered; the insurance figure is a range estimated from city and age averages and not a quote; taxes and fees are calculated from published Ontario rules and may not match what a particular seller charges; and depreciation, fuel, charging and maintenance figures are projections that will not match your car.
Nothing on this site is financial, legal, tax, insurance or investment advice, and using it creates no professional or advisory relationship between us. Decisions about borrowing money are yours, and the figures that matter are the ones a lender, an insurer or a dealer puts in writing.
3. Accuracy and availability
We take care with the arithmetic and we show our sources so you can check it. We do not warrant that the site is accurate, complete, current or uninterrupted. Market figures go out of date, rules change, and errors happen. Where we find an error we correct it and say so, under our editorial policy.
The site is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent the law permits, we disclaim all warranties, whether express, implied or statutory, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
4. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law permits, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, savings or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of the site, whether the claim is framed in contract, tort, negligence, statute or otherwise, and whether or not we were advised that such damages were possible.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited by law, including under the Consumer Protection Act, 2002 (Ontario), and nothing here limits liability for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
5. How you may use the site
Use it as much as you like, for yourself or for your work, including quoting a result to a dealer or a lender. We ask three things: do not attempt to disrupt or overload the service, do not scrape it in a way that degrades it for other people, and do not present its output as having come from anyone other than this site.
If you would like to reuse a chart, a figure or a table in something you are publishing, that is usually fine and we would rather you asked than guessed. Write to hamata.mike@gmail.com.
6. Content and links
The text, design, code and original figures on this site belong to Mike Hamata, operating as CarVerdict.ca. Third-party data is the property of whoever published it and is cited on the assumptions page.
We link to government pages, regulators and published research. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content.
7. Changes
We may change the site, these terms, or the figures behind the calculator at any time. The date at the top of this page shows when these terms last changed. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
8. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply in it. The courts of Ontario have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them, and you agree to that venue. If any provision of these terms is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
